These resources are meticulously crafted to enhance our knowledge and empower us to deliver exceptional value to our clients. By leveraging them, we can deepen our understanding of retinol, its benefits, and best practices for its use.
Retinol is known for:
Promote a healthy dermis and epidermis
Assist with collagen and elastin production
Improve the appearance of breakout-prone skin
Help strengthen the skin barrier
Minimise the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation
WHAT IS RETINOL?
From a chemical point of view, Retinol is accepted as the basic form of vitamin A, because it is the smallest molecule of vitamin A and metabolises into Retinyl Esters, Retinaldehyde and, eventually, Retinoic Acid.
We can empower our clients by educating them on the essential role of vitamin A in skin health, helping them achieve healthy skin longevity.
WHAT MAKES THESE NEW PRODUCTS SPECIAL?
Introduce this booster when the skin is comfortable with medium to high levels of vitamin A.
Step up from Retinol Serum to Retinol Serum Forte only once the skin is fully acclimated to Retinol Serum.

FAQs
WHY ARE THE EXISTING RETINOL’S BEING DISCONTINUED & REFORMULATED? IS IT BECAUSE OF THE NEW VITAMIN A RESTRICTIONS?
The answer to this question is three-fold:
1. Retinol 1, 2 &3 were discontinued due to a preservative change required. While very safe, it was imperative that we did not add a negative compulsory warning on the packaging – “Contains Formaldehyde” to comply with regulation.
2. The second reason for the new product formulations is to comply with the maximum vitamin A allowed in a product in the EU.
3. We maximised this opportunity to introduce new, more contemporary vitamin A science.
HOW DOES THE VITAMIN A CONCENTRATION COMPARE FROM THE OLD TO THE NEW RETINOL SERUMS?
We should refrain from comparing the Retinol 1,2 &3 to the new Retinol Serum / Retinol Serum Forte as they are new formulations, the ingredients are different, and they comply with the new legislation which states that all products containing vitamin A for the face are limited to a maximum of 0.3%RE. %RE limits the playing fields for cosmetics as no brand can claim 1% or 3% of Retinol – they cannot contain more than 0,3%RE. Retinol equivalents refer to the pure retinol content.
The advantage of the new Retinol Serum and Retinol Serum Forte is that both products are formulated with three retinoids from the first level, both serums contain powerful antioxidants and both serums have an 18-month shelf life.
In addition, Retinol Serum Forte contains the Retinol-like ingredients namely Revinage® and NovoRetin™ to enhance the effects of the Tri-Retinoid Complex. By adding these we are boosting the overall vitamin A effect, without adding more vitamin
A. We are not aware of any other product innovations that have combined the same retinoids together with Revinage® and NovoRetin™.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN STARTING ON RETINOL?
It is always best to follow the Environ “Start Low Go Slow” approach to introducing higher levels of vitamin A. The skin may show signs of adjusting i.e. slight retinoid reaction, but our clinical trials indicated no severe retinoid reactions. To enhance the user experience and skin comfort a blend of oils/emollients have been included in the formulae.
